Anchor chains are used more and more frequently among marine vessels. You should learn to perform proper maintenance on the anchor chain to increase the service life of the anchor chain. Diligent maintenance can ensure the normal operation of cranes, ships and other machinery, thereby achieving safe operations. So, how should you pay attention to the daily maintenance of the anchor chain?
First of all, when using the anchor chain, you should check frequently to ensure that the sprocket is installed on the shaft without skew or swing. If there are any related irregularities, they must be corrected promptly. Check the tightness of the anchor chain in a timely manner and make correct adjustments in a timely manner. The tightness of the anchor chain chain should be appropriate. If it is too tight, it will increase power consumption and the bearings will easily wear. If it is too loose, the chain will easily jump and fall off. If the anchor chain is too long or stretches after use and is difficult to adjust, the chain links may be removed if necessary, but it must be an even number. The chain link should pass through the back of the chain, the locking plate should be inserted outside, and the opening of the locking plate should face the opposite direction of rotation.
Secondly, the wear of the anchor chain should be checked frequently. To what extent is the anchor chain worn to the point that it cannot be used? If more than 1/3 of the chain links of the same anchor chain are obviously elongated, it cannot be used if the deformation and wear reaches 10% of the original diameter. After the anchor chain is severely worn, the new sprocket and new chain should be replaced to ensure good meshing. You cannot just replace the new chain or new sprocket. At the same time, after one or two years of use, the end of the anchor chain and the commonly used end should be planned to change the front and back positions of each chain link and re-mark them. In addition, special attention should be paid to the fact that the old chain of the anchor chain cannot be mixed with some new chains, otherwise it will easily cause impact during the transmission process and break the chain.
Finally, during use, attention should also be paid to the maintenance of the anchor chain. Each time the anchor is dropped, the anchor must not be braked until it reaches the bottom. When lifting the anchor, the anchor chain must be rinsed and sediment and other debris removed; the anchor must be used regularly. Keep the chain dry, and do not flush water into the anchor chain cabin when washing the deck; clean it every six months Check once and arrange all the anchor chains on the deck for rust removal, painting and inspection. The marks must be kept clearly visible; the anchor chain must be filled with lubricating oil in time during use, and the lubricating oil must enter the rollers and inner sleeves. The matching clearance is to improve working conditions and reduce wear.
